Hypnobirthing This is a complete birth education program, whose goal is to help the mother to be in control and to have a better birth experience. It involves teaching simple, but specific self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques. Hypnobirthing is not tied to any particular belief system. It allows one to experience birth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, which allows the birthing muscles to function as Nature intended.
Currently, the most prevalent source of information about HypnoBirthing is the HypnoBirthing Institute, founded in New Hampshire by Marie Mongan in 1989.
The hypnobirthing practice is founded in reference to techniques and simple cues which are used to bring the mother into a deeper state of calm.
